Friends and colleagues from AWC celebrated the holidays with an extra special luncheon, dining at the beautiful Shawnee Country Club. One of our very own AWC members, Jannett Weins, the club manager at SCC, helped arrange this meeting. A few AWC members showcased items for sale, such as jewelry, cosmetics, candles, etc. Also, members brought contributions to the Battered Women's Task Force to help those in need.

Thimios Zaharopoulos,
Professor and Chair of the Mass Media Department at Washburn University, spoke on “Communicating the Athens Olympic Games.” Dr. Zaharopoulos was born in Greece and immigrated to the United States at age 13.
