The inaugural Topeka AWC Headliner Awards on March 30, 2010 recognized communications professionals who made a significant contribution to a non-profit, for-profit or media organization in 2009.  At the Awards Luncheon, Topeka AWC also recognized its 2010-2011 Scholarship Winner, and all Top Ten Headliner Nominees were honored.  Proceeds from the luncheon will be used for college scholarships for students in the communications field, professional development, and community investment projects. 

Qualifying nominees had to be women communications professionals who live in Kansas. The woman had to have made a significant feat or made a significant contribution as a volunteer or employee of a non-profit, for-profit, or media organization during the 2009 calendar year.  The nomination process was open to the public and membership in Topeka AWC was not required.
