About the Award
2010 marks the inaugural Topeka AWC Headliner Awards. The Topeka Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications established the Headliner Awards to recognize communications professionals in the Topeka community who have made a significant contribution to a non-profit, for-profit or media organization. Headliner honorees will be recognized at an awards luncheon in March each year. Proceeds from the luncheon will be used for college scholarships for students in the communications field, professional development, and community investment projects.
Qualifying Nominees
Qualifying nominees must be women communications professionals who live in Kansas. The woman must have made a significant feat or made a significant contribution as a volunteer or employee of a non-profit, for-profit, or media organization during the 2009 calendar year. A woman may only receive a Headliner Award once.
Nomination Instructions
The nomination process is open to the public, and membership in the Association for Women in Communications is not required. To submit a nomination, please complete this form and return it by Wed., February 17, by e-mail to Mary Napier at mary@napiercommunications.com or by mail/in person to United Way, Attn: Jamie Hornbaker, 1315 SW Arrowhead, Topeka, KS 66604. The Nominations Committee, made up of current and long-standing Topeka AWC members, will review all information received and select the Headliner recipients. Nominations must be made by a supervisor, officer, or leader in the organization where the nominee made a significant contribution. A business or organization can only submit ONE nomination per calendar year.
